Raritan Avenue in Highland Park: Vibrant communities are made of a healthy mix of smart land use and smart transportation investments.
This site is intended to be a resource for local leaders and state officials who are planning the future of New Jersey. Many issues confronting municipalities today - particularly those relating to land use and transportation - are as difficult to negotiate as they are critical to the future of our state. That is why the Municipal Land Use Center at TCNJ and Project for Public Spaces are collaborating to improve information, resources and training for municipal, county and state leaders who are working to implement Smart Transportation and Smart Land Use plans in their communities.
On this website you'll find information about the March 2007 Leadership Institute. The purpose of this Institute is to get together many of New Jersey's leaders in smart transportation and land use - whether they be municipal officials, active citizens, or county and state officials - and make sure they have the skills and resources they need to keep on doing their important work. The Institute is also be an opportunity for these leaders to get to know and learn from each other.
